About Me

My photo
I love Jesus. I love my family. I love photography. I love books. I love thinking. Probably in that order. I have a wonderful husband, five beautiful daughters, a house, and a camera. I enjoy spending time talking to my husband, playing with my girls, redecorating my house and shooting things with my camera. In my spare time, I sleep.

What once was lost...

Over a year ago...February of 2008, I lost my wedding/engagement ring. The ring that Russ slipped on my finger while we said our vows was gone. The ring that contained Russ' grandmother's diamond was gone. The ring that I had chosen to represent my commitment to Russ & his to me was gone. I was so upset! I kept hoping it would turn up but after several months of tearing the house apart, I got discouraged & bought a replacement. Over the past year & a half I have sent many prayers up to my All-Seeing Father knowing that He could bring my ring back to me and hoping that He would. My eyes have periodically been on the look out for the miracle of my ring's return. Today God returned my ring to me!!

I was going through boxes of junk and pricing them for an upcoming yard sale. One box in particular I had put off going through due to the random nature of its contents but at long last I got to it and when I reached the bottom I was amazed to see it glistening up at me. It took several seconds for it to register what I was seeing but when it finally hit me and I was holding my long lost ring between my fingers, I jumped up with a screech, grabbed the phone & ran up the stairs while dialing Russ' cell! I was so excited to tell him the news! He, too, rejoiced with me. He mentioned it being a bit like the parable of the lost coin.
"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." NIV
I am excited that God answered my prayer...in His time, nonetheless. And it serves to remind me that some of the people who are I particularly & continuously bring up to Him in prayer for the salvation of their souls may be lost for now...but in God's time they too will be found (perhaps in an unexpected place) and there will be an even greater amount of rejoicing over their being found!

Thank you God for recovering lost treasures! I rejoice over finding my precious wedding ring...please let me one day soon rejoice over the repentance of those I love & pray for. Amen!
