This photo is nearly a year old and I may have posted it before but I recently reworked the editing on it and wanted to share my new edit.  This is my dad at the lake last year.  I wanted to give it a darker, more pensive look.  Let me know what you think.  Is it too much?

What I did:

I first upped brightness/contrast and ran a slight unsharp mask.  Then I did a color adjust to yellow-up the skin tone a bit.  I cropped it.  Then I added a layer; sepia toned the background layer and then went to layer properties and used the 'hard light' setting.

Before & After: Wheat & Scythe

This weekend I took some photos for my dad of some wheat to work out an idea for a logo for a product he's been working on.  I don't know if we came up with anything we'll actually use but I got some neat pictures in the process.  This photo was one of his favorite's.  I took the photo with my Canon 5d markii and processed it in Paint Shop Pro.

1. Adjusted Brightness/Contrast.

5. In background layer I adjusted Gamma Correction & Upped Saturation level.
6. In raster layer I used eraser tool on eyes.

Before & After: Birthday Girl

Today is  my birthday...I'm 31.  There is nothing really all that special about today...but it certainly is a day to reflect on the life I've been given and how I can use my remaining time on earth most effectively.  I am excited  because I can see already that God has taken me seriously when I resolved to grow closer to Him this year.  I am plainly experiencing His hand at work in my heart.  It is especially neat how He is using my love of reading to bring His message home.  Yesterday I was blessed to see in such a powerful way how the things I'm learning during my S.O.A.P. study of James were made even clearer as I read Ted Dekker's book 'Green'.  (I just love how easily & seamlessly God weaves his lessons into many aspects of our lives.)  Anyway...for my birthday this year I want to give praise to my Maker who knit me together in my mother's womb and who knew me before I was born; to my Savior who died so I might live; to my Master to whom I will be loyal all of my days.  Thank you, Jesus, for your indescribable gift!

I am participating in a Project 52 this year. (I am posting all my entries on my photography blog so if you want to keep up with those headed over here and follow me.)  Last week's theme was 'Egg'.  This is one of my photos from that shoot.  :)  I used my Canon Rebel XT and did the edit in Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9.
